We see that the new UO players and new New of Shadow players prefer to start player first tamer characters.
Why Animal Taming?
When you start the game you need gold, you can also get Money with Fisher Scripter orWarior characters. But animal tamer characters reach the gold faster. This is important to keep at the game and to support your other characters.
Starting Game
Install the game and connector program Razor. Enter Ip and Port. Select your server and enter your account ID and password that you get on the home page.
You have to select a class for your new character in coming screen. Select advanced and you see the skill select screen.
If you select as above Picture, you will start with Animal taming and Veterinary skills. Click nex to see character screen. Enter your character name, gender, clothes. You will be in the game after starting place.
Yu are at Training Area, there are everything adapted to game for you. Click the Skills button at the paperdall screen. This part will come,
If there is a blue button, you can use that skill without any item. Hold the Mouse after click the animal taming and drag it out of the skills window. So you can use this skill easier after double clicking.
When you click status button at the character scree, this window will come:
You can see your stats in this window( strength, dextery, intelligence). You can set lock or up your stats by clicking arrow that near the stats.
There are training horse at the training area. Go near a training horse. Double click the animal taming skill box and select the horse. When written “You start to tame the creature” up your head, you start the training. Your taming skill will improve after completing this repeates.
It needs many time to improve a skill to 100. For example; you must try animal taming on the horse during a day. Therfore you can use macros to improve your skill to not connect all times at the game. And you can do another thing while this character at macro.
Click option button at the character screen. You can see the hotkeys for many things. Click delete button and delete all of them.
When there is not any hotkeys click add button and set F1 to like this;

Click apply and ok button. You can see that will try to use taming skill the horse when you click F1 key.
Making Macro
Double click razor that is near the clock symbol and open the program window. Select Macros/New/Name to set your macro on the Razor program. Click Record button, click animal taming box and select the training horse on the game window after that click stop button on the razor window. It saves your movements on actions part. Right click below these action and select Special Contruct-> Add Pause/Wait. Set 1000 ms to waiting time. Dont forget selecting the loop icon. After you click play button it will start to repating the actions.
Training a Skill
It has given 1000 golds at the begining. This Money is for improving your skills and to meet your needs.
Your all skill out of first selected are 0. You can raise up by training the skill. You must find the skills masters for this. For example: Blacksmithy skill can be only training WeponSeller vendor. Also musicianship skill is needed for animal tamer characters. Because, some of skills (Peacemaking, Discordance, Provocation) want musicianship skill.
Find the Bard Vendor on the training area. Click on it and select train musicianship, he/she wants some gold from you.
Give him/her gold that he/she wants.
Note: The skill that you want to learn, must not be locked and your all skill total must not be 700.
Repaet this for the peacemaking skill.
Buy some music instrument from tinker NPC, double click on instrument while you are taming animal.
It will seen that your animal lore skill is 100, cause of when you talking animal the skill improves.
You can see that your strength is increased. Dont try to increase your stats at the begining. It is easier when your skill total is 700. You can see you skill total at below of the skills window.
Quest Time
You can join simple quest to earn some gold. You can join Dice tournament or snowball fight.
After your animal taming skill is 100;
You must improve your peacemaking skill before exiting the training area. You can tame animals easier and be safe by using peacemaking skill. Make macro for improving peacemaking skill that double click the peacemakin box and selecet yourself.
Exiting the Training Area
Click the guard that begining area, select talk:
Select Luna and click OK.
Go Fellucia – Magincia by using moongate, tame the horse at there.
Mount your horse and go to Ilshenar – Humility by using the moongate. You are at gren star, you should go to yellow star.
Enter the cave and tame drakes at the entry.
If you die exit the cave and ressurect by the healer right of the cave entry.
Tame two drakes. You can command your pets. Write (All stay, all come, all kill, all guard.) to command your pets.
You need gold. Go to Fellucia-Minoc by using the moongate and go to S location. There is a hole on the flat. Enter it and kill solen creatures with your drakes. There are diomand precious stones and golds in their corpses, take them. But you must be carefull, the hole is not safety zone. Put the loots to your bankbox. There are bankers in every cities. Say bank near the npc to see your bankbox.
The veterinary is neccesary for the animal tamers. You can improve this skill by applying bandages to damaged creatures. You can buy the clothes and a scissors at the tailor vendors. Cut the clothes with the scissors to get bandages.
Go to Ilshenar-Sacrifice by using a moongate. You can see the Meer Eternals at the Lake Shire when you move on direction to North on the map. The Meer Eternals infect bees to your pet when you attack them.(Note: You need a White Wyrm for this. You can get at the snowy areas on Luna or ask for help the other players)
When your pet attacks the meer mages, it infects the bees. The bees damages continuous to yor pet. You will improve your veterinary skill by applying bandages on your damaged white wyrm.(use macro)

Setting Your Stats
The another skill for the animal tamers is Magery. You can heal your self, teleport, cure with this skill.
You need mana for casting magery spells. Your intelligence must be higher for this. But you dont enough intelligence, so you will improve your intelligence:
Set arrow up to only your intelligence on your character status window. You must complete the skills total to 700. Therefore you must train some unneccessary skills to reach skills total to 700.
After completed bu kindling form the Provisioner vendors. Set arrow up to all your skills and double click the kindling. Your stats are increase every 30 seconds.(Note: Your camping skill must be 0, if it not, you cant get stats)
Set your stat as you want. But there is a problem with your unnecessary skills. Dont touch them, they will decrease when you improve your magery and discordance skills. But dont forget to set arrow down these skills.
Adventure Time
Go to Meer Eternals at the Ilshenar-Sacrifice. You can get golds and spells by killing meer eternals.
Fill the spells to spellbook that you bought from magery vendors. You can also buy the full spellbook to player vendors in Luna.
Note: You can reach the cheapest spellbook by using .market or [market command.
You will start to improve with this spellbook. If the Lower Reagent Cost is %100 at total, you cast spells without reagents and improve your magery easier.
You can improve your magery skill to 48 with Blees Spell, to 55 with Magic Reflection Spell, to 100 with Invisibility Spell. You can improve your skill easier by equippine – mage weapons. You can get this wepon from monster corpses or player vendors.
Own a Bonded Pet
You start to bonded time when you feed your pet. You can use [bonded command to sure the bonded time start. You can also see when it wil be a bonded.
Feeding;
Horses: with fruits
Dragon, drake, frenzied ostard: with meat
White wyrm: meat and gold
If your pet is not bonded, it cannot ressurect when it dies. You must tame again another one. But if your pet is bonded, it is allways with you until you feed it and put it to stable.
LATER STAGES
You can fight more stronger monster after your pet is bonded. For example: Blood elemantals; drops 500-700 golds and many items. You can reach at the East of Spiruttally moongate. Be carefull this dungeon is so dangegerous.
You can not loot good items at the begining because of the luck system. Buy luck items from the player vendors to increase your luck amount. May be expensive but more effective to reach good items.
